1. About Shut The Front Up

Shut The Front Up (“we”, “us”, “the platform”) is a marketplace that connects customers with independent third-party suppliers of shutters and blinds (“suppliers”). We are not the manufacturer, retailer or installer of any product offered through the platform.

2. Quote requests

Submitting a quote request is free for customers and does not create an order. It is a pricing enquiry sent through a marketplace of independent suppliers. We may show your project brief, without your direct contact details, to up to three approved suppliers. A supplier may submit an offer, but no response, number of offers, price, saving or response time is guaranteed. Your contact details are released only to the supplier whose offer you choose.

3. Pricing guide only

Any calculator result, estimated range, guide price, example quote or saving shown on the platform is general information only. It is a sample estimate based on limited details you provide, house pricing assumptions and marketplace pricing data. It is not a fixed quote, invoice, offer, promise of availability, valuation, or guarantee that a supplier will match that amount. Site conditions, measurements, product specifications, electrical work, access, freight, location, supplier availability and supplier terms may change the final price.

Our examples are provided to help you understand likely pricing bands before speaking with suppliers. They should be treated as indicative estimates only, not as professional advice or a substitute for a written supplier quote after inspection or final measurement.

4. Guides, how-to content and safety

Our guides, checklists, troubleshooting articles and DIY content, including the downloadable PDF versions, are general information only. They are published to help you understand the product and ask better questions before you buy. They are not trade, engineering or safety advice, and they do not replace the manufacturer’s installation manual or specifications for your particular product.

In Australia, mains electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrician under AS/NZS 3000. Roller shutter tension springs are under high load and can cause serious injury. Working at heights carries its own risks. You must not attempt electrical work, spring work or work at heights unless you are qualified, licensed where required, and properly equipped to do so safely.

If you choose to carry out any measuring, installation, repair or maintenance work yourself, you do so at your own risk. You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws, standards, licensing requirements and product warranty conditions. Self-installation may void a manufacturer’s warranty. If you are in any doubt, stop and engage a qualified professional.

5. Contracts are with the supplier

When you accept a quote, you enter into a contract directly with that supplier. Manufacturing, supply, installation, payment, warranty and after-sales support are the responsibility of the supplier, governed by their own terms.

6. Supplier approval

Suppliers must apply and be approved by an administrator before bidding. Approval is an application review, not an endorsement or guarantee. Documents may be requested and reviewed where relevant, but you should independently check the supplier’s identity, ABN, licences, insurance, quote inclusions and warranty before entering a contract.

7. Supplier claims and advertising

Suppliers are independent third parties. They are responsible for the accuracy of their own prices, representations, advertising claims, product descriptions, service promises, installation advice, warranty terms and compliance with Australian Consumer Law. We are not liable for false, misleading or inaccurate information provided by a supplier, except to the extent the law says liability cannot be excluded.

8. Reviews and ratings

Marketplace reviews are linked to quote records where possible. We may moderate or decline content that is unlawful, abusive, misleading, irrelevant or cannot reasonably be authenticated. We do not promise that every review reflects a completed installation. Any incentive for a review must apply regardless of sentiment and be disclosed.

9. Your details

By submitting a quote request you consent to your project brief being shown to up to three matched suppliers without your direct contact details. If you choose an offer, you consent to your contact details being shared with that one supplier so they can contact you about the requested work. You can withdraw permission for further contact at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

10. How the marketplace is paid and ranked

Customers do not pay us to submit or compare quote requests. Suppliers purchase credits and spend them when submitting bids. A paid priority or featured tier can affect when or whether a supplier is invited to a lead. It does not guarantee that the supplier will be shown to, selected by or contracted by a customer. Supplier fees do not change the price entered in a bid, and customers remain free to choose any offer or none.

11. Supplier accounts and credits

Supplier applications require truthful, current business information. Approval can be refused, suspended or withdrawn where information is incomplete, misleading, expired or where conduct risks customers or the platform. Suppliers must not use lead information outside the purpose for which it was provided, make unsolicited marketing contact, share customer information, scrape the platform, submit misleading offers or misrepresent approval as an endorsement.

Credit-pack prices and the credits charged for a bid are displayed before purchase or submission. Credits are a prepaid platform balance, not cash and not a promise of any number of leads, bids or jobs. Any refund displayed by the platform, including a short withdrawal grace period, is subject to its stated conditions. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Shut The Front Up’s liability is limited to facilitating the introduction between you and the supplier. Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

13. Disputes

Disputes about a quote, order, product or installation should first be raised directly with your supplier. If you can’t resolve it, contact us at sales@shutthefrontup.com.au and we’ll do our best to help mediate.
